SPIRIT WEEK CAREER ADVICE

“Don't put things down. Put them away!”

“Learning what you DON'T like is just as important as learning what you do. Discovering what you want in life can be a process of elimination. !

“Never believe that you can't, always know that you can!”

“Find something you love to do so much, you would do it for free. Do it so well people will be willing to pay you for it.  I try to put that in everything I do.”

“Your students will not care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

Advice for future educators

“Don't sweat the small stuff!”

“Don’t say something behind one’s back that you wouldn’t say to their face. In extension, treat others like you would like to be treated.”

“If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.”

“A job is something you hate to do and can't wait to leave. Work is something you can't wait to do and hate to leave. Find work, not a job”

“Say what you mean and mean what you say.”

“Choose your battles.” Or, “Choose what hill you are willing to die on.”

“It matters more knowing where to find the answer than knowing the answer.”

“Put down your sword.” This means that not everything is a battle and to approach issues peacefully, rather than combatively.”
